With 15 years in accounting and customer service, I believe I would bring several areas of competence to your company. In the past, it was my responsibility to verify information for new accounts and print billing statements at the end of the month. I have worked as an accounts receivable clerk who assisted in all aspects of the business. I was able to accomplish duties of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll for six week without supervision. As time allowed, I would assist with customer service on the selling floor. I enjoyed helping customers in person and on the phone with their project needs.

Time clock downloads of data to maintain and track absences, tardiness, and hours worked for approval by department supervisors. Assist in human resource functions including: Issuing employment applications, Handed out employee handbooks with safety information and other legal documents: I-9 and W-4. Handling correspondence. Communicate with attorney, CPA, and auditors. Explaining procedures to staff. Clerical: Provide clerical support for the business as a whole to include correspondence, record keeping and data base management. Write construction liens. Maintain alphabetic and numeric files by filing and retrieving a variety of documents. Issue gift certificates and record them in a register. Organization: Maintaining and order office supplies. Compiling and storing all physical paper documents and computerized documents. Labeling and storage of paper documents.

3. Recalling computer skills that I would enjoy implementing as part of a new career. Accounting system knowledge: Posting in QuickBooks accounting/bookkeeping for Accounts Receivables (A/R) and billing, Accounts Payables (A/P), Payroll, and General Ledger (G/L). Preparation and maintenance of accounting records involved in A/P, A/R, inventory management, expenses, auditing, and general accounting functions. Prepare and post accounting data, codes, and accounting classifications on invoices. Prepares and records billing. Review and mail invoices for payment. Enter journal entries into G/L. File and maintain clerical reports. Responsible for preparing month-end accruals and closures. Prepares account reconciliations. Effectively analyze and evaluate accounting problems. Understand general accounting concepts and procedures. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Interface with outside accounting experts, such as: CPA, sales tax auditor, insurance auditor, and attorney. Record and pay all county, state, and federal taxes. Exposure to Microsoft offices programs (word and excel). Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge of QuickBooks start up procedures for 2014 version. Cash flow: Issuing of cash drawers kept at a given balance, double checking and evaluation of end of day proceeds against cash receipts. Balancing batches by running tapes and proofing data entry. Copy, pull, sort, and print items including barcodes as needed for inventory. Posting: Review and input check numbers, check amount, and post to correct account. Verify account information when needed. Reports: Run reports to classify open accounts with outstanding balances for unidentified checks as well as runs query for account information. Mail room procedures: Trips to the postal office in order to collect, open, sort bundles of incoming mail. Photocopy and process outgoing mail by determining, affixing, and recording postage on registered mail and packages. Phone: Answer incoming calls, take messages from guest on current call, and take messages from answering system.
